Christmas Visit
We had one of the best Christmas holidays ever, and I hope you did, too. Grandma braved snow and ice and made the trip from Chicago to Louisville. Here are some memories.

Today we took the kiddos to Santa Safari at the Louisville Zoo. We went with Steve, Michelle, Josh, and Sarah. The kids had a blast, as they all got to meet Santa, Mrs. Claus (what is her first name, anyway?), Frosty, and a real reindeer and penguin.
Following that, we all walked a seven-station course and learned a bunch about all kinds of animals. It was a great day to be at the zoo. Just about every animal was out, including lions, pumas, tigers, giraffes, elephants, zebras, etc. The lions in particular were roaring like crazy, and we could hear them throughout the entire zoo. Very cool.
Every once in a while, it makes sense to take some professional photos. For us, that happens as a family about every other year. So, this is probably it until 2012. We really like Portrait Innovations. I wish we had known about them when Emmy was born.
Anyway, I am very thankful that we were all able to find something brown to wear. It’s harder than it sounds – turns out there are lots of different shades.
